Why is Pathfinder's Actual Return the same or lower than the major indexes, but the Annualized Return so much higher?
Pathfinder's Actual Return and Annualized Return are average returns PER TRADE. Our holding period is short term, so the Annualized Return is much higher than the buy/hold returns of the major indexes. An Actual Return of 5% over three months produces a significantly higher Annualized Return than an Actual Return of 5% over a full year. We do not offer portfolio strategies so it is not practical to calculate the performance of all our trades combined. To do so, we would have to invent some sort of portfolio model that may of may not be relevent to our Subscribers. We're stock pickers and we only measure the performance of trading opportunities identified by our proprietary trading model.
